• Nahavand is a town of Malayer area that is located in the region of Hamadan. A curiosity on the name of this town: this actually means `the city where you fabricate ciotole` (from nah city and vand bowl) and derives from crafts of pottery that has a long tradition in this area. Even knotting carpets is widespBed and characterized a particular style. Nahavand I have very high quality wool: soft and very shiny, with a brilliance that makes them similar to silk. Due to these characteristics of the yarns used the fleece is usually mowed fairly high. The knotting does not reach high density and designs are therefore quite stylized, although there are growing by floral patterns, with round rosettes and a decoration of the field consisting of a profusion of rosettes connected by rigid rods. The most common colors are blue and red for the field and the medallion, and cream forcantonal. The most usual border consists of a series of rosettes and palms, alternating with bunches of flowers, which are linked by rods which run for zigzagging the entire border.
