• Isfahan is located in the heart of Persia and M1600 rises above sea level. Ancient capital of the Persian Empire, is one of the richest city of monuments all over Iran and one of the most important centers of artistic production and crafts. In fact, the artisans of Isfahan are known for their skill in different fields: from engraving metals to the decoration of ceramics, to the production of carpets. These are among the finest of Persia and reach high levels of knotting (1,000,000 knots per square meter) in both the contemporary production and in that of past centuries (XIX - XX). The majority of contemporary production is easily recognizable by the use of silk in the warp and for its characteristic colors (red, blue, powder blue, and beige) which distinguish them from fine knotted carpets in other destinations. The Isfahan are often signed in a cartouche in the head, just to witnessmastery of those who carry out the designs and the knot. The pile is used the best kork wool and silk that is used to accent and highlight the contours of the decorations. The designs are very often focused on a circular medallion and are intricately detailed thanks to the fine workmanship. Not infrequently you can find Isfahan designs tree of life, and who then develop asymmetrically.
